Greenworks,time and national habit

hi Friends
A very joyous and enterprising new year for you all !

It was a hectic year for me, with my businesses being rejunvated and restructured.Greenworks, Asma Energy and Root Locus ( Integrated services for, startups and companies intending to enter India from across the world ) . I criss-crossed the world, starting from Boston, landing up in Santa Ana ( California) then Mountain View ( this quaint little town, which is a hub of world's enterprising minds). When I couldnt get through the solar industry in US of A, I flew to Abu Dhabi in search for job positions in Masdar City ( http://www.masdar.ae/ , world's first Zero Energy, Zero Waste city in the middle of the desert ). Finally, not finding any response even after entering Masdar ( a high security zone) and meeting recruitment people there, I flew back to India.

Within 4 months I had moved the Indian bureaucratic setup and have been able to brand Greenworks ( http://www.greenworksbiz.com/ ) across the plastic industry, in and outside India. With production facilities in two states in India and parterships spanning from Middle East to China, we have launched biodegradables with a  bang. Indian government and Industries have been impacted and approached. We are in talks with biggest FMCG chains in India and many more.

Coming to the second and important point. I was thinking on the habits of Indians and why we are a nation full of talents and skills with GDP/capita less than an under-developed nations ( development and its classification would be discussed under another topic ). Punctuality or rather unpunctuality is our national habit and given our middle class intellectual capacity to gobble up thousands of terabytes of information, we create very innovative reasons for being late for anything. If a marriage time is 8 pm ( printed on the card), people "start" reaching at 10pm and  on top of that we boast and even revel at this, calliing it Indian Standard Time .

Result is for everyone to see. High mortality rate, corruption ( yes ! it also has linkages to time), low health priority, less productive time, more time wasted on defending our habits, no innovations coming out from 1.3 billion people, no medals in any sports event ( except sometimes in national passtime; cricket) and list is endless.

Today there is a news on habits of judges of all high courts and the supreme court and the government's intention to clamp down on it. Enjoy the article and comment on this article too.
